Terms & Conditions

Welcome to The Cedar, a boutique micro-resort on Sandusky Bay in Bay View, Ohio. These terms govern bookings made directly through stay.stayatthecedar.com. Bookings made through Airbnb, VRBO, Booking.com, or Expedia are subject to the cancellation and reservation terms shown by those platforms at the time of booking.

Reservations & Payment

To confirm a reservation, we collect a 30% deposit at the time of booking. The remaining balance is charged automatically 14 days before your check-in date to the card on file. By submitting a reservation, you authorize The Cedar to process these charges.

Cancellation Policy

We understand plans change, and we've tried to make our policy fair to both our guests and our small team.

More than 14 days before check-in: Full refund of all payments.

7 to 14 days before check-in: 50% refund of all payments.

Less than 7 days before check-in (including no-shows): No refund.

Life happens — we know. For documented emergencies (serious illness, death in the family, natural disasters, or government travel restrictions), please reach out to us directly. We can't promise a refund, but we'll do our best to offer a credit toward a future stay within 12 months.

Approved refunds are processed within 5 business days back to the original payment method.

Check-In & Check-Out

Check-in is at 3:00 PM, check-out at 11:00 AM. The Cedar is a self-check-in property. You'll receive door-code instructions before your arrival; there is no full-time front desk, though our team is on property and available if you need anything.

House Rules

No smoking inside any room or building. Smoking is permitted in designated outdoor areas only.

Pets are welcome with a $35 per-stay pet fee. Please let us know at booking so we can prepare.

Quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM out of respect for fellow guests.

The listed maximum occupancy for each room is firm and includes children.

Damages

In the event of damage, theft, or excessive cleaning required after departure, The Cedar may charge the card on file for the cost of repair or replacement. We will notify guests of any such charges within 7 days of departure.

Liability

The Cedar is not responsible for personal property left on the premises, or for injury occurring outside our reasonable control. Guests use the property and its amenities at their own risk.
